Don't Use Priceline.com

A blog set to convince you why there are better options than Priceline.com

Priceline Customer Service is Awful

Just another example of how it’s impossible to get somebody that has any authority to make a decision via the Priceline customer service line. This is a great example of how customers are always left in limbo and don’t have clear feedback or answers.

Priceline sucks

‘Consumer Affairs’ communicates ‘Things to be aware of’ when using Priceline

The consumeraffairs.com website provides things that you need to be aware of when booking with Priceline:

  • There is little customer service when you are a Priceline traveler. If your plans go awry, it’s not likely a quick call to an 800 number will help.
  • The airline will not help you and will absolutely not let you exchange your ticket. You don’t own the ticket, Priceline does. Even if the airline wants to be helpful, there’s not much it can do.
  • Priceline fees and surcharges are sometimes higher than those charged by travel agents and airlines, so you may end up paying more even if the ticket price is lower than you might find somewhere else.
Just yet another reason to ensure you book somewhere else other than Priceline. There are also several complains that Customers have seen.  See a list at the link below

Priceline Executive Email addresses

Not getting what you need handled with the call center reps? Try contacting the Priceline executives. We have no way of validating that this is actually going to get to the executives at Priceline.com, but it’s got a higher chance than not attempting at all:

Priceline Compliant through pissedconsumer.com

Here’s a recent complain that a Customer submitted on pissedconsumer.com website:

I booked a hotel for 2 nights using Priceline with their “Lowest Price Guarantee” crap. Big mistake. Go to check in, the lady at the desk reruns my card and the price was $35 cheaper! I signed it, and she gave me a copy and said THAT was the price using Priceline and that they would credit me back the difference. Sure enough, they never did. So I called their idiotic customer service reps in the Phillipines. Nowhere. Got their coporate number in Connecticut. Got a bimbo robot that said that since I checked out they could NOT give me the lowest price guarantee that THEY ADVERTISE!. I called my credit card company and it is in dispute. I have a copy of receipts. NEVER use them for ANYTHING. I am filking a complaint with the better business bureau and Consumer Affairs. Just a bunch of scamming parasites.

Clearly Customers feel wronged by the “Lowest Price Guarantee” that doesn’t seem to provide much Customer confidence.

Poor Hotel conditions — Priceline does not refund Customer’s money

Here is a video of the conditions of a Customer that had extremely poor noise conditions in Hawaii at the hotel they booked through Priceline.  You can see the Customers statement and video below:

I purchased a 3 star hotel room in Hawaii from Priceline for one night in late September 2007. I purchased the room at beginning of August and afer finding out which hotel it was, I found this: “Please note: Due to construction and redeveloping occurring near the Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai, noise-producing activities will be periodic during daytime hours. This is a temporary incidence due to many development projects in the surrounding area.”

This is a direct quote from the hotel’s web site
that I found out after I made my reservation through Priceline.

This was absolutely unacceptable that this information was not divulged prior to my making a reservation with Priceline. I did not want to book at hotel that is in the middle of a construction zone and would have never made such a reservation if I had known the facts beforehand. The actual facts, as seen on this video taken from the balcony of my room, are that the room is immediately adjacent to a major construction site.

Although I gave Priceline numerous opportunities to rectify the situation by either refunding my money or finding a different hotel, they refused to be of any help at all. They have what I have come find out, is legendary POOR customer service, with a complete disregard for the facts that is without question, FRAUD.

If you ever purchase anything from Priceline, beware that they are a shady underhanded company that will rip you off if the opportunity presents itself. They misrepresent properties all the time, from what I have found out with rigged star ratings and fake reviews. I gave them two months prior to the night in question, and they gave me nothing but a runaround.

Yelp says “Priceline Sucks”

Here’s a recent post on Yelp, where Customers are expressing how they’ve been screwed by Priceline:

A website dedicated to why you shouldn’t use priceline.com

If you’re at this website, you’ve probably realized you’ve been screwed by a recent transaction with Priceline.com.  Yes, we recently did and we have had an impossible time getting ahold of anybody that will respond to me so I’ve decided to let others know that they should not use their service.
